CIH Qualifications

A career in housing can be complex, varied and extremely challenging. In order to gain the skills required to work effectively in housing associations and local authorities, it is essential to have appropriate skills and knowledge.

 

There are a number of CIH accredited courses available to housing professionals of all positions – from junior members of staff, right through to middle and senior management levels. At Abode we deliver CIH qualifications through flexible blended learning at training centres around the region or in-house at the offices of your organisation.

CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing

This qualification equips individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to progress as a housing professional. It is ideal for anyone who is currently workingin housing who wishes to progress their career by obtaining a higher level qualification. It is especially suitable for individuals working in or aspiring to a supervisory or management role.  Covering key issues in policy, law and management it represents an important step on the path to chartered membership.

 

Successful completion of Level 4 can lead to enrolment onto the Level 5 Diploma in Housing, completion of which provides full chartered professional status.

 

There are different entry points onto the programme with the next intake starting in October 2017 and costing £1,750.

 

Course Structure 

 

The following 6  units are studied: 

 

CIH Level 5 Diploma in Housing

Successful completion of this course provides learners with full Chartered Membership of CIH.  The qualification will provide learners with the necessary strategic skills and knowledge to face the current challenges in housing, covering key aspects of leadership, management and ethics. The next cohort starts in October 2017 and costs £1,850.

Course Duration

Both courses take approximately 10 months to complete.  The programmes allow for maximum flexibility, being delivered via blended learning using a combination of online learning and twice-monthly taught face-to-face sessions. Additional support is provided by tutors throughout the course.
